  • What is Next Level Fusion?
Next Level Fusion is a dance company, founded and directed by Tina Cavicchio. Our "bread and butter" is the dance team - we practice throughout the year, with our main season running from early October and our debut performance at the end of April. We also offer pop-up workshops and classes throughout the year, and are expanding what we do in terms of hosting social dance events. Our team is diverse; we have people who are professional dancers and people who have never danced before who perform in the same show. Contrary to popular belief, we are not *all* gay (but the majority of us are not straight 😅). We're also much more than all those things. We are a community; close, connected, diverse, multi-talented, multi-faceted. We call ourselves "the theater kids" of the Boston dance scene. We are FUN, and we know it.
  • What styles of dance do you do?
Bachata, salsa, hip hop, waacking, commercial jazz, & more! For Afro-Latin dance, we do bachata and salsa footwork and partnerwork. Fusion means we dance many styles, often merging and fusing styles together. We are a core pillar of the Afro-Latin dance social dance scene in Boston, so our routines almost always include some combination of bachata and salsa, but we are never boxed into one style. We enjoy the creativity of movements within our shows, and the diversity helps us grow as dancers and performers.
  • Where do you practice?
We are based in Boston, MA. Our team currently practices at Spontaneous Celebrations in Jamaica Plain, and we love it there! We also have dreams of having our own studio / community center someday. We have events and workshops at various locations throughout Boston, Cambridge, and the greater Boston area. We also travel nationally and internationally - follow @TinaCavicchio and @NextLevelFusion on instagram for the most up to date schedule.
  • When do you practice?
There are currently four Next Level teams - each team practices once a week for an hour and half. As of 2025, practices are Monday and Tuesday evenings. Our season starts in early October, and we work on one show throughout the season. Our debut performance is usually at the end of April and we continue to perform throughout May and June, with some scattered performances spread throughout the summer and even into early fall. We perform at our own events, at congresses and weekenders, and at local events. Our Open Haus is early October - anyone is welcome to join to check it out and see if our vibe is right for you!
  • Who can join the team?
Anyone! Inclusion is kind of our thing. :) We are open to people of all genders, ages, body types, abilities, and levels of dance experience. No experience is necessary to join - in fact, we have many dancers who started their dancing careers with Next Level! Next Level currently has four teams that all perform within the same show. Two of the teams are open-level and two are audition-based. Something cool and unique about Next Level is that all teams perform within the same show; we have people who have never danced before performing with professional dancers.
  • How do I join?
Come to our Open House in early October! Our season starts every October. RSVP on our Upcoming Events page.
